Saltram is designed to feed about 65, or 75 with the optional brie added.

The base is that beautiful and very popular modern cheese, Cornish Yarg - looking amazing in its coat of nettles and very hard to dislike! Beenleigh Blue is a superb sheep's milk blue and a massive favourite of ours, and cheddar comes in the form of Ford Farm Cave-Aged Cheddar.

The top two cheeses add variety - in very different ways. Right on top is a tiny, super-soft Rosary with Garlic & Parsley and just below that is a fruity, aromatic Merry Wyfe.

The brie option adds a 1kg Cornish Brie. If used this would sit on top of the Yarg and just under the blue.

Around 6.5kg of cheese, or 7.5kg with brie option - feeds 65, or 75 with brie option. Supplied as wrapped cheeses, undecorated. For our photo shoot, the cheese tower was decorated by the British Academy Of Floral Art. The Georgian-inspired garlands they created gave us our name: Saltram, after Devon's most famous Georgian house.

Saltram

This cake feeds 65, or 75 with the brie option. From the top down, you have:

Rosary with Garlic & Parsley - a soft goat with an almost mousse-like texture - then Merry Wyfe: an organic washed rind cheese from near Bath. A big favourite with customers in our shop, this is a springy, fruity cheese with a beautiful orange rind.

Ford Farm Cave-Aged Cheddar comes next, then Beenleigh Blue, inspired by the French classic Roquefort. This sweet cheese with a tangy blue 'edge' is one of our great favourites in The Cheese Shed.
