Not all occasions involve a cast of thousands. We regularly get asked for cakes to suit 30 or 40, and this is one of several that aim to fit the bill. See also Tintagel and Topsham.

Tyneham
The base here is a Smoked Wedmore. What's that? Take one classic Duckett’s Caerphilly and add a line of chives right through the middle of the cheese. Then, to make it doubly interesting, smoke the cheese. Great stuff.
Next comes Sue Proudfoot’s sweet, springy Miss Muffet, and this leads to a 500g ‘Mini Vinney’, i.e a small version of the classic Westcountry blue from Dorset.
On the top, we use a really special little cheese called Eve. It's a soft goats' cheese which has been washed in
Somerset Cider Brandy then wrapped in vine leaves. And you have to admit that sounds good ...
This should be around 4kg, perhaps a bit over, so we’d be thinking of maybe 40 people? Our cake was snapped by top Bovey lensman Bim and decorated by the wondrous Annie. Don’t forget that we only supply the cheese ... so you’ll need a creative person to take on the decorating duties.
