This a buffalo milk cheese – firm and made in the cheddar style, it has a buttery texture and a very distinctive flavour – strong and savoury. If you haven't had buffalo cheese yet, this could be the place to start!
Pendragon is made by Philip Rainbow who set up the Somerset Cheese Company a few years ago, after leaving Monastery Cheese. The number of 'pens' in his cheeses (others include Pennard Ridge and Pennard Vale) is explained by the fact that the dairy is set on the Pennard Ridge near Glastonbury.
Pasteurised, vegetarian.
