Cheese of the Goat
Goats milk cheese gets ever more popular and we've got some beauties - 'mould ripened', like Gevrik, Capricorn and White Nancy, through ash-covered (and, frankly, funny-shaped) ones like Dorstone and the Cerney Pyramid, to the harder cheeses.
Quickes make an almost cheddary version, and Dave Johnson has his own hard trio - Norsworthy, Gunstone and the flavoured Posbury. And at the other end of the scale there's the super soft, represented by melt-in-the-mouth Oakdown, from our near neighbour Max Pilar, and St Marwenne.
And are you ready for blue goats' cheese (Nanny Bloo or Harbourne Blue)?
If not, why not?
