Fruit cake and cheese - it's a combination that some people love! Strange but true.
So. this is a bit of an experiment. People keep telling me that we ought to offer a cake that includes both fruit cake and cheese. Wensleydale is most often mentioned, so here's an idea which includes a 4kg Belton Wensleydale, 1kg Elmhirst and a tiny Capricorn goats' cheese to go on top.

At the moment: cheese only!
As I say, this is an experiment. So at the moment we're going to sell it as 'cheese only'. You'd need 7" and 4" fruitcakes to complete it, and we're thinking that most families include a cake-maker.* Mind you, if people are interested (let me know!) we'll try and sort out the cake side of things too: I'm sure that ought to be possible.
*We found that you need to cut the top off the cake so that it's flat, turning it upside-down to get a clean top edge. Also, it's best to slip a thin board between cake and cheese.
